Department of Computer Engineering
This department is a part of computer science and electronic engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardware and software.
Our students will be trained in electronic engineering, computer science, hardware-software integration, software design, and software engineering. They will be introduced to many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual microcontrollers, microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems work, but also on how to integrate them into the larger picture. Robotics are one of the applications of computer engineering.
Department of Computer Science
Computing is part of everything we do. It drives innovation in engineering, business, entertainment, education and it provides solutions to all kinds of complex problems. Computer science is the study of computers and computational systems.
The department introduces students to a broad field which includes the algorithms that make up software, how software interacts with hardware, how software is developed and designed, etc. Our students will be exposed to the use of various mathematical algorithms, coding procedures, and programming skills to study computer processes and develop new software and systems. They will be able to define the computational principles that are the basis of all software.
Department of Library and Information Science
Library and information science (LIS) are two interconnected disciplines that deal with the organization, access, collection and regulation of information, both in physical and digital forms. These two disciplines, library science and information science, are within the same field of study. Library science is applied information science. The organization of information and information resources is one of the fundamental aspects of LIS.
Students will be introduced to this interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary field that applies the practices, perspectives, and tools of management, information technology, education, and other areas to libraries; the collection, organization, preservation, and dissemination of information resources; and the political economy of information.
